Today's teens are struggling at an alarming rate. Gen Z are the first to grow up in the age of the digital and social media with an overexposure to information, and the potential for undue influence. Children and teens must learn to navigate a world that’s changing at a lightning fast pace.
For parents of teens, it's hard to know when to seek help--and where.
Teen Therapy today expands far beyond mental health disorders, and provides a safe and healthy outlet to learn to better cope with their emotions, stress, change & difficult situations, life skills, and making the best choices for their futures.
Teen Therapy with Me
As a parent and a therapist, I recognize the significance of choosing a therapist that you can trust.
There are some very questionable practices being promoted in the fields of psychology and medicine that fly in the face of logic, and the best interest of our youth. If you're seeking the guidance of a mental health professional, you want to be assured that the therapist isn't pushing an agenda or following the latest fad, and causing your child harm.
Rest assured knowing that none of that will be happening on my watch.
Instead, I will engage in tried and true psychotherapy practices with your child's best interest in mind--not only for today, but in the future.
How I Work
I work with teen clients who want to participate in therapy. My typical teen client is high-functioning and goal-oriented. It's important that your child participate in the process so that they can take some ownership of the process and feel confident that it's a good fit.
In Session:
I’m easy to talk to. I’ve worked with teens for years and I understand the struggles they face.
I'm engaging, interactive, and a believer that having some laughs and fun in therapy is much more likely to promote growth and change than a sterile, textbook therapeutic relationship.
I encourage communication between all of us throughout the process.
